Ladies First: Skills & Drills

This is a great opportunity for ladies that have a basic understanding of firearm safety and shooting fundamentals and want to further their training. Each session will have a classroom topic as well as a variety of range drills to help you develop your shooting skills and enjoy a night out with other ladies who have similar interests! This will include time in the classroom as well as range time – with multiple stations to learn different skills as well as a variety of guest speakers.
Price includes a complimentary 15 round ammo pack, unlimited firearm rentals, and personalized training from instructors. You may bring your own firearm or shoot the rentals we will have available.
Topics covered will vary but may include:
  • Intro to self-defense and situational awareness
  • Intro to personal defense and legal considerations before, during, and after a confrontation.
  • Selecting a holster and storing your firearm at home & on the go
  • Clearing malfunctions
  • Dry fire practice
  • Reloads
  • Increasing accuracy at distance
  • Engaging multiple targets
  • Access your firearm while it is in a safe or case

Come join us at the range for an evening of fun with your date. Wednesday nights from 4-7 PM, couples shoot for $35, which includes a lane rental and a complimentary firearm rental. Members receive free admission and a free firearm rental!

Ammunition, targets, and eye & ear protection are not included. Standard rental rules apply.

Ladies' Night

Ladies' Night

This is a great opportunity for female shooters that need a refresher course on safe firearm handling, are shopping for a firearm, or are experienced and want to enjoy a social night out with other women who shoot! Ladies’ Night includes the use of the range, handgun rentals, event targets, eye & ear protection, a complimentary 15 round ammo pack (caliber of your choice!), and instructor time. Guests are welcome to bring their own firearms or use our rentals. Ammunition must be brass cased and jacketed to shoot at the range; range ammo must be used with all rental firearms. Glock Challenge

Glock Challenge

The GSSF League Match is a series of three matches conducted over a three-month period. Participants must be current GSSF members and compete in at least two of the three matches at Skagit Shooting Range to qualify for plaques and prizes. Competitors may shoot any Glock pistol. The course of fire is 50 rounds from low ready for the Stock and Open leagues, or 25 rounds for Pocket Glock. Click here for event dates and previous winners!

Action Shooting

Practice your marksmanship skills on the second & fourth Friday each month. Action Shooting is a mix of PPC (Police Pistol Combat) and IPSC (International Practical Shooters Confederation) style courses of fire, mixing speed and accuracy to help improve your marksmanship regardless of a specific discipline. For our courses, you’ll need at least 20 rounds per run, as well as an outside-the-waistband holster and two magazines. Shooters must be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of firearm safety and usage. Safety rules must be followed to participate in the event. Action Shooting runs from 5-7 PM.

Steel Challenge

Steel Challenge

Come in and practice your marksmanship skills with the rewarding sound of steel! Our Steel Challenge course is great for building your shooting skills in both speed and accuracy. For our courses, you’ll need at least 25 rounds of frangible ammo per stage and between two-five magazines. Shooters must be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of firearm safety and usage. Safety rules must be followed to participate in this event. Steel Challenge is the fifth Friday of the month, from 5-7 PM.

Friday Night Drills

Friday Night Drills

This event is currently not on the calendar – we will bring this in the fall.

Friday Night Drills is held on the third Friday of the month, from 5:30-6:30 PM. This is a three-part series that focuses on trigger press, sight acquisition, drawing from the holster, and more. You’ll need a firearm with 10 round capacity, two magazines, a holster, belt, mag holder, and 50 rounds of ammo. This event is led by Rick Remington, one of our awesome instructors.

Tuesday Night Pistol League

Tuesday Night Pistol League is a weekly pistol league, similar to our Glock Challenge, but you can use whatever handgun you’d like! We have a Stock league that is perfect for beginner and intermediate shooters, as well as an Open league for more advanced shooters. You’ll need 50 rounds of ammo; extra magazines are recommended, but not required. The course of fire changes weekly. TNPL is run every Tuesday from 4-7 PM. At the end of the 11 week season, we draw for three range gift certificates; the number of matches you participate in counts as your number of entries.

The Well-Armed Woman

The Well-Armed Woman

The Well Armed Woman is a members-only shooting club for women that is hosted at Skagit Shooting Range on the third Sunday of each month for one hour of classroom time and one hour of range time. IPSC Drills

Come run through some mock IPSC qualifiers! Perfect for beginners looking to get their feet wet, or seasoned shooters looking for a little more practice. You’ll need at least 18-24 rounds per run, as well as an outside-the-waistband holster and two magazines. Shooters must be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of firearm safety and usage. Safety rules must be followed to participate in the event. $10 for range members and $15 for non-members.
